Eskimos and Love

The Eskimo has many many;
Words for snow. Makes sense;
“It’s snowing again outside love”
Well? “What type dear?”

But love, an idea;
Concept for which we have,
Only one word. “Love”.
Seems very strange, when considered;
In all types and form.

Love of another
Love thy neighbour
Love thy god
Loving a friend so dear
Loving the weather when the sun shines out.
The list continues ad infinitum.

I love my recovery,
And I love my brother, mum and dad;
All in different ways, but also one
And the same.

I love waking sober in the morning,
I love coffee instead of liquor.
I love to drive without the risk
Of harming myself, or worse;

I have so many feelings
I’d like to express; yet
With only one word to use.

Oh, some days how I’d love
To be an Eskimo.
With such a range in speech.
Oh, to express my feelings;
With a single word for each.
